Lorry blaze to keep Wiltshire road closed ‘for some time’
A massive lorry fire on the A388 at Collingbourne Kingston has forced police to close the road for “some time” as motorists are urged to find an alternative route. Emergency services responded to a lorry fire on Marlborough Road at 9.46am today (August 5), which had spread to nearby trees. Four fire crews are in attendance, from Pewsey, Marlborough, Andover and Stratton. Police have closed the road in both directions and a picture from the scene shows the vehicle has been destroyed by the fire.
The force is urging motorists to avoid the area as firefighters tackle the blaze. The road is closed at Collingbourne Kingston junction with Brunton on the north side and at the junction with Chicks and Cadley Road. READ MORE: Lorry fire on A388 at Collingbourne Kingston forces road closure – live

A message on the station’s Facebook page said: “The on-call have been in attendance to a HGV fire on the A338 Marlborough road, Collingbourne Kingston. “The road is currently closed and will remain for some time.
Please avoid area and find alternative routes.”
