M180 crash: Boy seriously injured in motorway collision

A teenage boy has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a crash on the M180, police have said.

The motorway was closed in both directions, between junction 2 for Belton and junction 3 for Scunthorpe, after a van and a HGV collided at about 06:30 BST.

National Highways said it was reopened at about 12:30 BST.

However, motorists have been warned of residual congestion both west and eastbound and advised to allow extra time for their journey.

The agency said there are currently tail backs of up to four miles eastbound and one mile westbound.

Humberside Police has not provided any further details of the collision.
