HGV driver in court over death of Northwich crash victim

An HGV driver has appeared in court over the death of a father-of-two from Northwich[1] who was killed in a collision in 2015.

Twenty-nine-year-old Adam Jones, of Holly Grange in Connah’s Quay, is charged with causing the death of Dennis Heesom by dangerous driving.

Jones, wearing a red hoodie and jeans, spoke only to provide his date of birth and address at a hearing at Chester Magistrates Court[2] on Wednesday (January 25).

He did not indicate a plea.

The matter was sent to Chester Crown Court[3], where a plea and trial preparation hearing will be held on February 22.

Mr Heesom was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on the A530 King Street on the outskirts of Northwich on December 14, 2015.

A tribute from his family at the time described him as the ‘centre of family life’ who loved socialising and the outdoors.
