Flatbed truck, taxi cab collide in Dania Beach

DANIA BEACH, FLA. (WSVN) – Rescuers had to extricate the driver of a taxi cab after, officials said, he collided with a flatbed tractor trailer in Dania Beach, Friday night.

Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue responded to the scene of the crash on Southwest 11th Avenue, near Stirling Road.

The left side of the taxi cab was mangled in the accident, trapping the driver inside. Crews had to cut the vehicle’s doors to get him out.

Paramedics transported the taxi cab driver to the hospital, but officials said he was not seriously hurt. The truck driver was not injured.

A WOMAN has died after she was knocked down by a lorry at a petrol station.

The 68-year-old woman was walking across the forecourt when she was struck by the HGV truck just after 7am this morning.

The vehicle was driven by a 42-year-old man who was unhurt but left badly shaken.

It comes after a a pedestrian was left seriously injured after being hit by a van[1] on the outskirts of Stirling this morning.

Sergeant Stewart Dyer is appealing for witnesses to the crash.

He said: “The crash occurred early in the morning however the forecourt was busy with motorists heading off to their commute, so I’d be keen to speak to anyone who was there to contact police.
