A serious incident occurred at 7:33am this morning at Penwortham flyover, A59 Guild Way.
Reports suggest traffic is backing up around the area, with all emergency services in attendance.
People are being told to avoid Leyland Road, Liverpool Road, Strand Road and Cop Lane in Penwortham if possible.
Lancashire Police tweeted: “We are currently at the scene of a two vehicle collision on the Penwortham flyover bridge.
“Emergency services have attended and the road is closed. We are advising motorists to avoid the area and find alternative routes where possible. We will update you in due course.”
Lancashire Fire and Rescue service released a statement about the RTC:
“At 07:33 on 9 December, two fire engines from Preston and Penwortham attended a road traffic collision located on Guild Way, Ashton on Ribble, Preston.
“The incident involved several vehicles. Casualties were treated by the fire service and left in the care of NWAS personnel. Fire crews used a hearth kit and were in attendance for thirty minutes.”
